Hi I am Rachel, I am new to the group after being diagnosed 3 weeks ago with Mild Crohns. I have been put on a 6 week reducing course of Entocort, prior to diagnosis i was told I had IBS and was prescribed lanzoprosal, which I was advised to stop whilst on the entocort. Now my indigestion & heartburn is back what can I take to help??

Hi Rachel, welcome to the forum.

It's probable that the indigestion and heartburn is due to the Crohn's, not the entocort. Entocort is active only very locally and should have very little systemic absorption. I don't understand why your DR said you should stop taking your lanzoprosal while taking entocort. I suggest you call them back and insist on getting an answer to that question.

Hi and thanks for the welcome,

Spoke to my GI tonight and he has advised me to now take the lanzoprosal twice a day 30min before breakfast and tea. But 2 hours after the entocort. So guess I am starting at 6am with the Entocort 8am Lazoprasol 8:30 breakfast... If I need to I can take the Gaviscon lunch & bedtime.

It was one GP that advised to stop the lanzoprosal then the next GP told me to re-start.

Good news is he thinks the Entocort is working despite being in pain after first tapering day. Did mention about maybe adding something else to the mix..

Just wanted to say welcome. I learned so much from this forum when I was first diagnosed in 2007 after years of problems - you will too. I have come back here fairly regularly and often "lurk" to see how everyone is doing. I wish you the best of luck with your course of Entocort, and I aslo wish you many happy years free of flares.

I've been prescribed omezaprole a few times; always just take it with my Pred >_>

That said, I suppose your doctor gave you specific instructions for a reason, so I would follow them. Welcome to the forum :p
