Fresh red blood? Probably ruptured hemorrhoids?
opened or irritated fissure? Assuming the hospital where you are scheduled for the scope has an ER I'd seriously consider going to the ER there now depending on how profuse the bleeding and your suspected cause of it.

I suggest that you call your GI or whoever is on call for the practice tonight and ask what to do. If you go to the ER, can you have someone else drive you? Good Luck and I hope all goes well.

I agree with Gumby. Call the GI's office and see what they think.... Let us know how you're doing.

Sorry guys this issuch an old post but I have been very sick since I tried and tried to make attempts to c my GI only 2 find out that she moved her practise to a bigger hospital and they won't give me any forwarding number my family doc tried as well,,it will b 1 week on Thursday since the scope and I got the printout from the hospital saying there was lots of hemroids and fissures etc but the problem is I live in a very small town and the nearest hospital is 3 hours away and with running to the bathroom and most times not makiing it I would never make the drive,,the bleeding is still present but not as heavy I was also told that they used suction on me durning the scope and I also have numerous hernia repairs done and my fear is the mesh is strangling of something cause I had the surgery repeated several times the mesh broke now I have a major mass of lumps on my right side after many bowel resections,,my GI said she figured there would be no problems cause I only have 10cm of colon left well I guess that is where the problem lies,,Please if anyone has any idea why this is still happening or if I should make the long trip to the hospital any advice would be an asset so thank u once again and again sorry 4 bringing up this old post but I didn't have the energy to even get out of bed lately...Onthecan...
