New colo-rectal surgeon visited and no fistula!

My GI guy was concerned about my description of the issues I was having with my tags.  Especially when I told him a quote from my husband - "I think you have gone bad---you smell funny or more funny than usual".

GI sent me to a new colorectal guy who has just the right style for me.  He looked, verified no fistual and no fissure.  "I am just a little cracked some times".  His next answer thrilled me.  Call the minute you have issues, but you don't need to see me until then.  Basically, I went in thinking surgeon=want to cut and explore.  Definitely not with this guy.

Now I am back to have to be better at sitz baths and more gentle with my tushy.  surgeon recommended over the counter cortico steroid cream to start with and hope that brings down the increased swelling.  If it doesn't work he will try something stronger.  He had no problem with the Neosporin with pain relief for the bad days.

Just super excited that no fistula!!!

Hey CToo...I have tried all the different wipes and found each one too harsh or too harsh after a while.  I have super sensitive skin everywhere else...so why not the tushy too.  Even the alcohol free and baby wipes would sting.  I know I also have an issue with wanting to be clean so cleaning a little too aggressively.  Sticking with mostly just water now and the irritation goes away.  If I keep the irritation down, the tags stay a little smaller, then the cracks happen less, then I have less of the stinky problem.  I know an old lady who swallowed a fly.
