Sudden High Blood Pressure - Remicade?

I've been on Remicade for just over a year. about 3 months ago, I noticed that my average daily blood pressure seemingly jumped overnight from a very low average of 100/62 to 140/97. There were no other drug changes during this time. I've always been under chronic stress, and still kept the low BP so I'm wondering if anyone has experienced or heard of Remicade causing an increase in blood pressure that is not an infusion related reaction? I'm quite concerned. Although 140/97 isn't extreme, I understand that any increase by even increments of 5 can significantly increase the risk for a cardiac event and for me that is a big jump.

I've been on Remicade for a year myself, I've had high blood pressure years before my CD diagnosis and the Remicade has not altered it in any way. Currently my BP is averaging 130/70. Assuming you'e on no other meds I'd just mention it to your GI / Primary Care.

Have been on Remi for 2 years without this side effect.

During my infusions my blood pressure goes lower and lower each time. My last one was down to 86/46 I think and may have gone a little lower but I was kind of out of it at that point. I'm going to ask my doc when I go back because I see him again before my next infusion. I looked up the side effects and high and low blood pressure were side effects that could mean you are allergic but if it wasn't during the infusion and you've been taking it for a while then I don't know. I've just had my 4th dose and don't know if they will be able to keep me on it if this continues.

Yes, I can play that tune. 140/mid 90s plays for me. Previously 120 / 70 was normal for me. I have been tracking my BP since the 80s I used to give blood all the time anytime they called. (I was an on call pheresis donor matched to several leukemia patients) So I question any lame excuse offered. Pain is the only one I'll buy.
