Colposcopy

Been waiting nearly a whole month now, had my first pap come back abnormal so I get to experience my first colposcopy tomorrow too!
I'm so lucky! .....not lol

I'm a little annoyed I realised they should have informed me what was so abnormal so I could mentally reassure or prepare myself :/

I stupidly got into google of course trying to fill those weeks waiting and scared myself silly that it could be something less friendly due to all the immunosuppressants :/
Weird part is I know I can deal with whatever is wrong in just more scared about the procedure hurting or disrupting my whole week as I already battle through enough on a daily basis
The only thing that really scares me is anything that will result in being infertile I'm only 21 :/

I know I posted when I first found out and had a few responses, I'm just suffering with a but of insomnia and worry and I often don't know where else to turn except people who understand what it's like to feel scared and unwell

I know I am just a worry wart! I have heard a few people say its fine and no big deal but you don't sit and worry about that you worry about the horror stories you hear haha!
I have already had the hpv vaccine yes about 3/4 years ago now I only had 2/3 of the vaccines because I was actually going through being diagnosed with crohns at the time! But I've been told that shouldn't make too much of a difference!

And I know thanks for your reply I halve so many questions and the not being able to sleep I really just needed to vent my worry so thank you for listening and replying! I have my procedure in less than 3 hours but I have college first lol I'm sure ill report back here in a few hours that everything went fine

Hi, I have had a colposcopy before. Its really not that bad. Uncomfortable. I don't think it hurt more than a pap. I think I had a little polyp or something removed when I had it done. I don't really remember much about it so it couldn't have been too bad. I've also had another child since having it done so no worries there. I had that one abnormal pap and haven't had another one since then. Even my Gyn said not to worry about one abnormal pap because so many things can affect it. You will just be tested more frequently for a year or so and then once you have three normal ones you go back to yearly.
