Good reason for colonscopy?

So I have been having doubts of constipation which was remedied with amitiza and a nutritionist's help. But as of lately I get diarrhea and/or constipation. My stool is usually beige, random chunks or pellets and I have lots of gas and lately there has been blood mixed in or what appears to be tiny blood balls being passed, bright red in the toilet and on the paper. Also super fatigued and tired all the time. I am on remicade and have not had a colonoscopy in 2 years so my doctor wanted to do one presumably because of the blood? I thought a bit of blood id normal so do you all think I should just get it done?

He probably wants to see how bad the inflammation is at this point especially if you have started bleeding. I would get it done if I was having symptoms and it had been two years since my last one. I haven't had one in over 3 years but I've been in remission for over a year and a half.

I agree. Your symptoms are not "normal." Remicade does not appear to be keeping you in remission.

thanks everyone, it's just I'm really nervous about it, I mean that kind of blood wouldn't be triggered by just stress right? I guess its better to be safe and see what's going on. I think this is like my 5th and im still scared of waking up lol

I only had a colonoscopy when initially diagnosed. Any time I flared and my GI wanted to see what's going in I get a MRI. A colonoscopy would probably show more, but it is more invasive. If you really don't want a colonoscopy, I would ask you dr about an MRI with contrast.

My GI said if they problems did not continue I could skip it, but I've been keeping with the same symptoms, I am having urgency like 10x a day, literally every time I go to the bathroom, even to pee, beige diarrhea comes out, or sometimes involuntarily in my underwear. Or i have cramping and like large pebbles mixed with blood come out or blood trickles out. I mean is that more than a hemorrhoid? Looks like I'll have to get it done...:/
