Low phosphorous, anyone?

Hi all, I am wondering whether anyone here has experienced low phosphorous? I am currently on infliximab alone as my therapy for CD, and my doctors had noticed by phosphorous was low. They then asked me to do a urine collection test (colleting 24 hours’ worth of urine in a jug) and found it was consistently low – so I am now on phosphorous tablets – 4 per day. They give me diarrhea which is not too pleasant.. Anyway, the reason I ask is that my doctors don’t seem to have any answers for me as to why exactly it is so low. I am in remission due to infliximab, so it shouldn’t be malabsorption issues, but I did have some weird side-effects when it was particularly low: ·          Memory loss ·          Swollen ankles and legs ·          Puffy, swollen eyes, particularly in the mornings when I woke ·          Memory loss, scattered mind ·          Difficulty breathing It would be great if anyone else out there could share their story with me… did anyone have an underlying cause for the low phosphorous? I never have, but DH has hyerparathyroid and they used to give him phosphorous before a new drug became available. Just out of curiosity have they looked for what is causing it or are they just ok with treating?
