I got Pancreatitis from Imuran, Could 6mp work or is it the same thing?

I got Pancreatitis from Imuran, Could 6mp work or is it the same thing? Seeing my GI on Monday, I have to look at other options...she suggests remicade or humira..yikes!

I'm on the UC forum too but crohn's/uc we're all a big happy family so I thought I would ask some people that are new to me :) Thank you.

I got pancreatitis pretty bad from imuran as well this year. We didn't even touch 6mp but went to Remicade. Especially since an abscess had turned into a fistula the month before.

Absolutely love it! Other than giving me a migraine the next day (which I already get anyway) and a tiny bit of nausea, I don't have any other side effects that I can see. And it kept me in remission through a bout of c. diff. and several flare-ups of the pancreatitis (I even had an NG feeding tube for 3 weeks in August, blech).

It might be a good idea to try the Remicade first....from what I understand, if you build up antibodies to the Remicade then you can switch to Humira, but if you do Humira first and build up antibodies then you can't do Remicade. At least that's how I understand it - if I'm wrong, I hope someone will tell me!
