Hello everyone hope you're all well!
I am just looking for any similar experiences or for someone to make me feel more confident in asking for some extra tests!
Back in April I was admitted to the hospital twice, I was having agonizing attacks below my left rib cage. The fiat time I just packed up and sent home, second time they did an X-ray and an ultra sound when they came back normal I went for a flexi sigmoidoscopy. And put my pain down to constipation, put me on morphine patches and sent me home.
This wasn't my usual hospital so I guess they just wanted to shipme out. But this was not constipation this was pain like I have never experienced in my life and I've had some bad flares!
This pain started coming on suddenly at night, it would buckle my knees it was so severe n it just kept eating worse it would come day and night after a while. The pain would cause agony in my shoulders I wouldn't be able to lay down or sit up I'd just cry. It took two days or morphine and tramadol before I would even attempt to pay down n let a doctor touch my abdomen
It's months later I still get the pain, it's not a gripping nor as intense as it was but it is bad enough that my doctor has put me on Valium and hydrocodone the hydrocodone works for a whole but not the Valium. My guess is I've learnt to live with the pain as we crohnies often have to learn to do...
I've since had a second colonoscopy and my doctor has said that I have some ulcers and nasty looking areas where the bends are (which I guess could cause the pain but I've never experienced pain like this before) all I can do most nights is repeatedly put a heat pack on every 5 minutes and nothing but the hydrocodone takes the edge off
I spoke to a friend last night who had his gallbladder removed and he suffered with very very similar symptoms, I want to ask my doctor if this could be a possibility but I'm scared it won't be I've wasted a bunch of money on the tests and I'm also scared it will be and then I'm going to cost even more on possible surgery...
I'm seeing my family doctor Wednesday to get more pain pills and my GI at the end of November...
Does this sound like it could be a possibility? I don't find food makes a different now but it would at the beginning... Could it get better on its own if it is my gallbladder? In April I had my pancreas checked and all was fine.. I don't know what to think or ask, my mum is dead set on not costing my dad anymore money, but what can ya do... They're gunna have to get over the fact crohns is for life and it has som crapy complications!
Hope you're all well! Forgetting the pain my crohns is actually being rather nice to me for once :)
Ps if you need to know my meds have been cut to 200mg of azathioprine and 9mg entocort
But was on pentasa at the time too...
