should I be worried?

I know EGE isn't Crohn's, but I know we are treated similarly and have similar symptoms, so I figured I would post here. I've been flaring for about 3 weeks now, and just got out of a 4 day hospital stay for bowel rest

My problem right now is that I haven't had a bowel movement since Wednesday of last week. While I was in the hospital, they told me they didn't allow people to go over 3 days without having a BM, and gave me 2 doses of Miralax on my last day.

The abdominal pain clinic where my main GI doctor is just told me when I got home to take Miralax every hour until I have a BM, but I've had 4 with no luck and tomorrow will be an entire week, and I'm starting to feel pain in a different area than I normally do which is my lower right quadrant (on my left side and behind my belly button).

Do you have any advice for me? Should I be concerned? If not, is there a point when I should be concerned?

I agree!!! I was unfortunate enough to go almost 3 MONTHS! Without a bm, it is not nice! I was lucky I didn't end up vomiting my own poop!

I was seeing my doctor the whole time, after one de suggested the method you are using another doctor exclaimed its ridiculousness! And changed to a stronger medication and that became a trial and error until I was taking a prep for a scope ;)

I'm sure I was just an awkward case but either way its not safe to be waiting a whole week!

My advice would be to get into your GI or ER soon. It sounds like you are obstructed. You do not want to be obstructed long. Please take care....
