I posted earlier asking about
rectal dilatation but when I saw the colorectal surgeon yesterday he did not mention that issue. He said that both the GI and him discussed my condition and agreed that my proctitis is constanlty flaring but they are not thinking of a dilatation. Instead he wants me to increase taking the GTN cream (a mixture of gtn and zylocaine) to 4 - 6 times per day and also to increase glycerin suppositories to 4/day, take the enemas and wait until inflammation eases.
I posted in the UC forum as it is a proctitis related issue but they suggested I post in our forum since they do not normally get strictures.I'm really suffering. I don't know where did my D go? It's not constipation. I have to apply the GTN cream and the glycerin suppository to be able to pass very loose bm but in a very very few quantity.I get these severe cramps where I have urgency, rush to the toilet and can't pass anything out. Would it this last? I don't understand the rationale of my GI and surgeon of refusing to letting me have a dialtation but I was told before that the inflammation will become worse. I know that this can happen if I have a fissurectomy but is it always the case w rectal stricture? My intestines started to become painful too and a lot of times I get explosive painful watery D. I sarted to be constantly nauseous and have loss of appetite.
Does anyone suffer from this? How do you deal w it? Would it last for a long time? Dilatation is out of question now since both my GI and the surgeon do not want me to undergo it.
