I have been home for a few days now, recovering well from the surgery, but my joint pain is still in full force.
My new GI ran a ton of tests and has yet to call me regarding any of them. I know a few were negative in the hospital but a lot had to be sent out since the hospital doesn't have all the testing equipment available I guess. The general feeling I get from him is that he believes I do not have Crohn's Disease. All my blood work shows normal results regarding Crohn's 'markers' and CT scan still shows no sign of any inflamation. The surgeon also said he didn't see any around there when he took out the appendix. I love my new GI, he is very attentive, asks a lot of questions, explains things to me, and even gave me his cell number if I ever need anything, he actually pre admitted me before my trip to the ER and got me really expidited through all my tests while I stayed there.
The joint Dr did an exam on me after the surgery. I also had done a few XRays of my hands, knees and feet, all which shows no inflammation. He said he didn't see sings of an inflammatory disease in me, in my gut or joints, and his best guess at this point is fibromyalgia, but he wants to do further testing and another exam that he cant get done at the hospital, so I should see him shortly.
Got sent home with some weak pain meds, and I found my body really gets tolerant of pain meds very fast. At home I already need 2 Vicodin to relive any pain, in the hospital dilaudud was doing the trick but after 2 days I was already not feeling it as much.
So again I wait some more for more testing and blood work while still in pain in most of my joints. I'l keep you updated.
