I have this problem also. I will try the Folic Acid along with my other regement. I've been using Avalon Organics Biotin B-Complex Thickening Shampoo and my hair looks a lot thicker and don't notice much falling out. Nioxin did not help me, but we all have different things that help us. Ive been taking Biotin (dermatologist idea) I don't think its helping, maybe it takes awhile. She checked my D and Iron levels, both were low and thats one of the many reasons of hair loss. Now taking D and have to get with Dr on iron as that can be toxic, if taken in wrong amounts or kind. The shampoo is cheaper at vitacost.com or swansonvitamins.com. I've had this awhile, so there are many things that you can do to ease some of the stress that comes with thinking of thinning hair. My hair dresser did a short layered haircut and a zigzag part, that improved the looks. I'm getting carried away here but want to share my tips. Everyone here has some good ones, I agree about the gut healing and things clearing up. Thats part of my problem with hair loss, and iron and D vitamin levels. (nutrition absorption). My hair is thin and brittle.
Hope this helps and you find what works for you. Hair loss is a tough one. Keep us posted on what is helping you. Good luck!
P.S. I've just learned, I'm using the "original Avalon Organic shampoo"and it works. They now have "New and Improved" people are saying this does NOT work. Hopefully they go back to the original formula.
