The past few weeks for the first time in a long time, I have been feeling really good. After my fistula surgery in February, I am now able to power walk an hour a day, with no pain. And have been eating a lot better and counting calories and such. So far I have lost 6 pounds in 3 weeks and I am hoping to continue to lose weight like that consistently. I'm one of the Crohnies that has never been skinny but overweight. So now I am finally able to work on getting my excess weight off.
But, now I am getting comments from people as to when I am going to stop taking my medicine and stop going to that gastroenterologist. They've told me that now that I'm losing weight I can stop going to the GI because he's just using me to make money.
I go to the GI every 4 months to get checked out and get all my blood levels checked. I take Humira once a week, azathioprine twice a day and Vitamin D.
How can I get it through to people that I can't just stop all of my medication like that and stop going to the GI. Or should I just nod and ignore them. It's just really aggravating.
