Hey guys! I'm new here and do not know if I have Crohns but my doctor is doing a bunch of testing. Over a month ago I felt super sick and was in bed for about 2-3 days with just diarrhea, no fever just felt sick. Thought it could be the stomach bug. I was having back pain (sharp) and lower abdomen pain for about a month before hand and I went to the OBGYN and he put me on antibiotics for a bacterial infection but did not want to test me being I do not have insurance. Well... I have had loose stools all month after that but feeling better and no diarrhea, just loose stools. Then all of a sudden 3 days ago the diarrhea started up again bad. From what I think I can see is there is blood in the stool too. They did blood work today it all came back normal (which means no bacterial infection) but now are doing specimen tests for bacteria and she told me if they don't find anything I will have to get tested for Crohns :( I'm very upset I might have it. How did you guys find out you had it?? What were your symptoms and do these symptoms sound familiar to you?

Our son who is 11 started with symptoms last July with blood in stools, terrible pain on BM, he then delevoped what we thought was a boil on his botttom, he had golf ball abscess removed, crohns was then suspected, he then developed mouth ulcers all through his mouth and throat, with swelling of the face and lips. Finally after scopes in Jan 2013 crohns was confirmed. He then went on and completed an 8 week liquid diet which is pretty good for an 11 year old, this worked great for the ulcers and face swelling. At the moment he is back on normal diet and the mouth ulcers come and go but no where near like before. Also started on 50mg of Imuran 6 weeks ago. he also has 2 setons in his bottom for fistula's, which is going ok (I think). I hope some of this may help and all I can say is keep at your doctors and keep asking questions. Never give up with the questions. Good luck.

Hi, my symptoms were drastic weightloss, stomach aches, diarrhea & fatigue i was diagnosed after having a biopsy done took the docs over a year to diagnose that was a good few years ago though! x

I hate to tell you the scope is the best method to tell you what is going on. The people that have been down the road keep repeating the blood tests are not the answer.

I went through a series of Dr's over 8mo, all kept doing blood work, stool tests, CT scan and anti-biotics. Idk which blood test they did to check for crohns but it came back negative. The scope and biopsies a couple of weeks later is how they diagnosed it.
