It is quite easy to make your own broth. Recipes abound on the net. The easiest and cheapest method for me was to buy a kilogram or so of chicken wings, add very roughly chopped veggies (carrot, onion, celery), a few black peppercorns and a bouquet garni, and then bring it all to the boil in a large saucepan of water. Once it's boiling, turn the heat down, skim the gunk off, and simmer gently for 3-4 hours. It creates a gorgeous smell as it's cooking, too. That really will be SCD-friendly.
