Anal/Rectal Inflammation

I've have perianal crohn's skin tags for over 20 yrs...when I was a teen they came and went and I was told they were hemmies, I had no CD symptoms as a teen but about a yr after I had my first baby in my early 20's the tags stayed constant and I then became sick internally with CD, but first they still thought I just had hemmies so they banded them while they were in a flare (large and hard) and they've remained that way ever since...and no anal cancer to this day.

Of all the things I've read about perianal crohn's skin tags, not once have I come across anything stating that they can turn into or cause anal cancer, I think you may be worrying about nothing if you in fact have perianal crohn's skin tags.

YES!! Lately.. in the past week I have been experiencing blood clots and bleeding pretty bad. I have had UC ... since 97... then remission for 5 years or something wonderful like that.. Got sick in 07 and HAVE YET to get this bleeding under control. I will say that in 09 I was diagnosed with Crohn's colitis and pancolitis and was a MESS inside. Now the dr. says I have UC because I think i've healed up so much since 09.

I do feel the way you do though... I feel in a stand still with my healing progress. The last part that needs to heal, isn't and I think to myself ...what good is all the rest of the healing if having the inflammation in my anal area contiues and turns to cancer. My last scope showed Intraanal neoplasia which is changes in the cells of the anal canal. I had those removed and also had a skin tag removed. Which btw, i never knew skin tags could lead to cancer. My surgeon said it's ok to leave them alone if the dont pose a problem.

Right now I'm just as frustrated and concerned as you are. I can say that the rectal suppositories have helped. All of them. Canasa, Vit E, the homeopathic kind called Avenoc suppositories . Maybe give one of those a try.

Wow. Ever since my surgery in 2003 my anus has been inflamed. At times, very very much, most times these days moderate but there to notice and there is scar tissue of course. I worry a lot about cancer in the anus or how that would even know to look it is already so beat up. They never mention it but do mention the skin tags could turn to cancer but we watch them but no one says about all the scarring around my ass to anus. Anyone else have had long term anal inflammation? I will def raise this concern but it just really hit me last few months how long this has been going on.

I too have crohn's colitis as you do sooper with the perianal crohn's skin tags, I've been flaring the entire 22 yrs since getting sick...yes the increase of colon cancer goes up slightly the longer you have inflammation in your colon...I was never told that I was at risk of anal cancer due to my anal tags (and mine are huge and plentiful, you can't even see a hole in my anus cuz the tags take up all the area)...I'm also a smoker (32 yrs now) and still no cancer...take each day at a time, don't worry about stuff unless it actually happens...the stress isn't good for the crohn's.

I've had hot tender bumps in the anal rectal area for many years. Sometimes they got better, at one point I thought they had gone, but in the last several months, I developed problems in the area again. The doctor said he couldn't see anything but a small fissure, but it sure felt painful, felt like a whole lot more. I can feel a small tender lump, like a very small sharp pebble that burns badly every time I wipe.
Sometimes it feels hot and itchy.

When I was a user of prednisone, the one way I knew I was getting better, the feeling of pooping out shattered glass would go away. The inflammation in my anal and rectal area would calm right down.
