just wondering if anyone uses any pain meds? I am starting to flare up and both my back and groin area are killing me. I have never asked my Dr for pain meds but this time around its simply too much. I'm not even sure what meds to ask for?

I have medication for pain due to the arthritic problems I have. I would let your GI know you cannot deal with the pain. Some GIs don't write scripts for pain meds. Since your back is hurting, why not visit your primary care doctor and let him/her assess the problem? And I would not specifically ask for a certain medication. Sometimes that can get you labeled as a drug seeker. Make sure whom ever you ask, that they understand you are having both back and groin pain.

Agreed, don't ask for specifics. I'd tell them you'd like to try starting with low doses, since you've never had them before and you don't want to get stoned out of your mind by too high of a dose. :) (As tempting as that may sound when you're in that much pain.) Also be careful, because some pain meds can slow down your digestive tract.

I was prescribed Tramadol. I found half a tablet worked to take the edge off and I could function in a work environment. Guessing TI Crohn's from your description.

Better to confirm what the problem is than to just pop pills for comfort.

Well, for me, when I flare my lower back kills, and the right side of my groin hurts real bad. This has been the pattern of my flares for years, but it's just worse now.

That's about where the terminal ileum is located. Hoping you get the needed information to get the best treatment to resolve your pain.

Well, my Gi's office called and said they called in a script for Cripo & Flagyl. I told the nurse It's not c-diff(which is what they gave me all 4 times I had it), but she said my Gi thinks it will help. That stuff when I take it hurts my gut sooooo bad, I'm just not gonna take it. I guess I'll call back in a few days and tell them get me something for the pain.
