I have also been on Prednisone for what feels like forever (10mg daily for over 5 years, occasionally going up to higher doses --when Crohn's, Crohn's arthritis, or athsma symptoms require it-- then doing the usual step down after a short course, but not stepping down past 10mg of course. The past 6 months or so I've started weaning down first 7.5mg for a couple of months, then 5mg, then 4mg, now 3mg. If symptoms cooperate & all goes according to plan I should be done with it entirely in about 8 more months.
I had shaking in my hands very rarely a few years back, but always wrote it off as being related to my urgent use athsma inhaler which is combo of albuterol & another med. I've hardly had to use the inhaler lately (ironically thanks in large part to the Prednisone) but just recently have noticed my hands shaking some at random times for brief intervals.
Is that the kind of thing you are all referring to? Do you think that I can expect it to continue or even get worse? I only ask because I'd love to know what to expect if possible. As dybeye also noted, it seems to really upset my loved ones (possibly because it is such a visible & startling symptom.)
I know my reply was pretty much all questions & no answers, but please know I still lend my support. Sometimes it just feels better to know others are having similar or the same experiences.
Wishing all of you a low symptom day & at least one really great moment (the kind that makes you forget about everything you cope with & just lets you take a deep breath and smile or laugh.)
