when will it get better? constipated still.

I've been suffering bad constipation. Been taking mix of senna miralax x2 day am also on 40mg pred (been on pred about 2 weeks or more) and am on an antibiotic x3 a day & 200mg aza

my body seems to like waiting 10 or so days before I have a bowel movement and even then I'm forcing it.

I was hoping the movement would bring relief and id feel better. But I dont I feel like I need to vomit I feel weak headaches shakes stomach obv still hurts...

I dont know what to do. I dont wana start weaning the pred next week and not be feeling any better first... but I also dont wana be on pred incase thats the reason I feel poop.
any advice would be appreciated

no I dont think so. That would be the easiest answer and my body doesn't usually produce those lol.
I had an xray done about 2 weeks ago that looked normal, would narrowing have shown on there?

It honestly feels like my insides have just gone to sleep and the only way to get things moving is like one of those play dough guns lol I laugh but it's not funny

Oh yep, just saw that in your signature....zofran will definitely cause constipation. Lorcet is the same as Lortab, I think, so that will also be contributing.

You were badly constipated before the Pred, right?

Going on 40mg Pred can severely constipate some people at first, probably as a rebound effect to stopping the diarrhoea so suddenly. But as the Pred dose is lowered, the constipation quickly goes away.

I'm still suspecting colonic inertia to be honest. I'd start weaning the Pred. I suspect it's the constipation making you feel like utter poop, but Pred won't help with that in the slightest.

Yup. Was constipated before the pred. And Yup they both prob the cause of feeling poop. Urghhhhhh.

I'll give the nurse a call and suggest that When my Dr comes back we look at colonic inertia. He's in England til beginning of next week but there's another Dr in the office who can do any thing if needed...

Im due to wean the pred on Thurs anyway, they do it different of here I've always done 5mg a week but I'm going from 40 to 30mg for 5 days then 20 for 5 and then off so I'll be of them pretty quickly anyway

thanks guys just so frustrating not knowing how to stop this from happening cos it started before I was put on any of those meds, im on them to try and combat the side effects of feeling constipated lol. Oh well nothings ever easy with this disease! Just wish I could take some time out when I feel like this but the world doesn't stop spinning...
