Chobani Greek Yogurt Recall

This was sent out from the FDA today.  I thought I'd post it here since many use yogurt and may not have heard.  I know I've bought this brand:

"Chobani, Inc., of Twin Falls, Idaho is voluntarily recalling Greek Yogurt. The company has ceased the distribution of the product due to reports of product bloating and swelling and some claims of illness as the company continues its investigation to identify the root cause."

 

Yeah, I thought the same thing! I think they mean it's bloating & swelling in the packaging, but honestly it tends to do that to me anyway. I can only eat a small amount at a time without trouble. I think my body thinks the good bacteria is dangerous and "calls out the guard".

Got sick last sunday night soon after eating some Chobani yogurt. Been sick since. Do not know if it is related but just found out that the ogurt was recalled due to a mold. Have crohns and my symptoms were bloating, back pain, radiating heat coming from my stomach (but no fever), nausea. Whenever I eat it gets very bad. Seeing doctor on monday, and it is likely there is no connection. However I am on heavy antibiotics, so prone to fungal fungal infections.

Make sure your doc does stool testing...maybe it's good you are already on antibiotics. sorry you are going through this. You should report it to the health dept
