Short but very severe abdominal pain

Today I experienced short (like 20 minutes) but very severe abdominal pain, followed by loose bowel movement.  I suspect it could be due to the strictures that I have. The pain was so bad that I almost passed out, and I was sweating badly sitting on toilet.  After I emptied my bowel, I feel a lot better.  Has anyone else experienced this?  What do you do about it?   Thanks/ 

I have that as well... I wouldn't say it's frequent, but at least once a month or so. I'm not sure what the cause is, but I don't have a stricture. I've always just assumed it's part-and-parcel of the disease and never really questioned it. But I would definitely mention it to your doctor, as gumby said.

Thank you for sharing your experiences.  The severe pain occurred this afternoon.  I went to the bathroom and sat on the toilet and endured one of the worst abdominal pains in my life.  I do not want my co-workers to find out about this.  If on a scale of 0-10 with 0 meaning no pain, it was close to 10 this afternoon, because I was short of breath.  After I had large but loose bowel movement, my pain went away.  Like some of you, this sharp pain re-occurs once in a while.  If I do not go to bathroom right away to empty, the consequence could be much worse.
