All my life I was healthy and never had to be hospitalized for any illness other then physical injuries I suffered as a child and cuts and bruises I got at work and today i wonder what went wrong. I notice there's not much information on this site about brain cancer so i wanted to talk and ask if there's anyone on this panel ever battled brain cancer and it's affects or knew someone that did, am wondering if anyone here knows someone who is currently battling this illness? I am 46 years old, now constantly annoying pressure headaches and a sI can explain in detail my nightmare how it began and its situation I was examined through means of routine blood and urine analysis, CT Scan, MRI, and Spinal Tabs diagnosed last year by late October at age 45 with a brain tumor which was determined through a biopsy taken to be an malignant brain tumor call AA3-Analplastic Astrocytoma Grade 3. I never experienced any side affects of this brain tumor until one morning while driving to work through midtown Manhattan the company truck I suffered a charlie horse and it shot up my left side entire body thought it was a stoke at first but later determined it was 5 seizures due to brain and I was put on an anti seizure medication and steroids to reduce swelling but then it came down to all that i had to take meds for diabetes as it induced my sugar glucose causing high levels of insulin, and blood thinners., I was on a 21 day regimen of medications one that only took aspirin and called it the day. I am sad as I am partially paralyzed and frustrated because hospital never warn me of the risk of being paralyzed due to the negligence of a physical therapist rough stretch caused me a hemotoma bleed in my cuff and as you recall i mentioned earlier I was on blood thinners and it bleed out as my body they was sensitive to any injury and things were done without the proper experience using resident doctors students without a care in the world now am on physical and occupational therapy wondering if I'll ever walk again., I wouldn't desire this illness on anyone but there should be further information regarding brain tumor which is very important topic. I appreciate the time for me to share my thoughts and concerns with everyone here. but before I go I am hoping someone here replies with further information and if anyone knows of a cure or if anything can be posted I hear about cannabis Oil and it's cure for cancer, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I am so sorry about your diagnosis and the complications that followed. As Carl said, we don't have a specific forum for Brain cancers. I like Carl's idea of you visiting and posting in the Depression Forum as I am sure you have experienced some depression since your diagnosis. Most people with a chronic or life altering disease experience a certain amount of depression.

I too just want to say that I'm so sorry for what you're going through. I truly hope that you conquer your Cancer diagnosis.

I will certainly pray for you. I sincerely hope that you'll find the strength to seek out the best possible care and treatment.

I'm really sorry to hear this too. Both my parents had degenerative brain diseases (Alzheimer's and Parkinson's) which is about as close as I am to knowing what you're going through. Well that and my own experience with a spinal cord injury which paralyzed my right leg. But I did get most of the feeling and use back. It is sometimes a lonely road we travel and it's always a better trip when we meet up with someone to talk to even if our experiences are different.

Astrocytoma, 40 years ago August removal (They referred to them in classes then not grade 1 2 3 or 4.) Technology has changed greatly, Mine was cut out, laser or radiation may be current answer combined with other treatment. Boston may be the place to go? I have no idea what Cancer Center of America has (from the TV commercials). I did not see what part of the country you are from. There may be solutions elsewhere.

Google the heck out of treatments.

I am very very sorry to hear about your tumor and your cancer, and I know what you are going through.  My brother-in- law died of brain cancer in 2002. 

Just out of curiosity, I was wondering if you are or were a heavy user of cell phones, and is your tunor on the side where you use your cell phone? 

The reason I ask, is because my brother-in-law felt very strongly till the day he died that his cancer was directly caused by his excessive cell phone use over 6 year period.  He was a salesman and he was on the cell phone constantly  morning till night, 7 days a week, and his tumor developed on the same side he used his cell phone.  I know there is no hard core evidence saying that cell phone usage causes brain cancer, but after seeing what my brother-in-law went through, now my whole family and his family,  we only use our cell phones when absolutely necessary, and with a head set where posible.

lou are you still here with us? today is 11/09/2014. I just joined this site. my son was diagnosed 3 yrs ago with astrocytoma grade 3 I think it was on his left side of brain. it was operable and they took it out at Houston tx Methodist hospital January 2011. he then immediately had 6 weeks of dialy radiation and 6 months of chemotherapy, they are keeping a close watch on it, so far no recurrence. dr gave him a 3-5 yr life span. he is doing great. we are so Blessed many answered prayers. he went back to work with no disabilities 5 months after his surgery. I think he should have taken more time off being he was on the chemo, but he wanted to get back to some form of normalcy. he was 28 years old when the tumor was found on a ct scan. he had a seizure and living alone, he called me and his dad after he woke up and said he wanted to go to hospital he knew something was not right, but he didn't know what had happened to him.
