Weird symptoms, may gross you out

A few days before I went into the hospital for my bowel resection I started to have cramping pain upon urinating. It worsened in the hospital after the surgery, and was getting better until recently. It seems to have worsened the last couple of days. I'm also having a bizarre... and this is the gross part... discharge from my vagina. At first I was bleeding a bit beyond my period, spotting here and there. Now it's a yellow discharge. I don't know what is causing this.

In October I had a CT scan where there were abnormal findings for the bladder. A cystoscopy was done but from what I was told, nothing unusual was found.

I would get with my GYN and have the vagina checked for a possible fistula. Also, do you UA analysis show bacteria or any abnormal findings? Sounds like you might need a repeat cystoscopy done to check for a fistula.

I saw a urologist in the hospital and he said to set up an appointment if I continued to have these symptoms. I did not have the vaginal discharge at the time. I don't see it being a yeast infection as I had that once and the discharge is dissimilar. I don't know about a bacterial infection. I do know I was given a huge amount of antibiotics and an antifungal while in the hospital, before and after the surgery. If I did have an infection, I don't know how it could have survived after all that, but it's possible. I do worry about a possible fistula, but I don't know why the surgeon wouldn't have seen that if I did, or why it wouldn't show up on a CT scan or numerous X-rays. I don't have a gynecologist right now. Can Planned Parenthood do a pap smear for free? I don't want to go to my family doctor as I question her competence.

All though I had the surgery on Halloween, I still feel a significant amount of pain, enough to have to take Percocet several times a day. Is this amount of pain normal after 18 days have passed? My pain is worst after sleeping, and I always have to go urinate. I wake up every night because I have to urinate.

I just checked my temperature and it's 100.1 degrees.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to contact my surgeon first today, and then see if he recommends I go to the hospital. BTW, you are allergic to sulfa products, girlzilla. Those symptoms you had are symptoms of an allergy for sulfasalazine.
