In so much pain

Hi

I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis several years ago but the diagnosis changed to crohns after they found ulceration and inflammation in other areas of my bowel a few years after the first scope...I have been in remission for about 7 years. Therefore not on any IBD related meds....except nexium for chronic gastritis.

I have been in the emergency room twice over this weekend. They can't find out what's causing my pains. These pains have me crying like a baby...excruciating.

My pain is in the upper left abdo...and also almost directly behind in my back. Both pains feel similar, but the intensity varies in both. The pain can be simultaneous or right after each other.

They X-rayed my abdo, they X-rayed my back...they did a ct scan with contrast of my abdo...they found (thankfully) nothing significant except for some feces on the right hand side which they thought might have something to do with the pain...

They sent me home this morning with Percocet for the pain and that nasty drink to make you go to the bathroom and some zofran for the nausea.

I recently got told that I have arthritis in my spine but I don't think the pain is from that.

I'm in a tail spin....still in pain when pain meds wear off.

Do any of you think it's Crohn's related?...Has anyone had anything like this?...can anyone shed any light on what could be going on?

Hope anyone can shed some light as I can only get to see my (new) gastroenterologist in Jan. And that's as an urgent.

It's a long story, but I was Asacol for ages some time ago but I came off of the meds because I felt I didn't need it once I was in remission, plus I was on so many meds at the time, I just wanted to weed out what was not necessary.

Besides which, I actually came to believe I did not have Crohn's disease...I still would like definitive proof....I thought the ulceration might have been due to something else...or maybe I'm just wishful thinking.

My pain is on the right side, it's upper left quadrant but I have pain in my back too...I think the two pains are connected.

But good thinking in the contrast not picking any inflammation. Although the backed up stool was on the right side but this contrast might have missed something on the left.

No, absolutely nothing it would seem.

But I did manage to get the gastroenterologist appointment brought forward by one week to the 31st Dec.

As for my general doctor, had an appointment on 16th but am trying to change that for an earlier one...don't look like I'm going to succeed in that.

My pain has lessened a lot...but still have pain in that upper left quadrant and now I have a bulging prodding sensation in the same region as the pain. It's the strangest sensation ever....it's very uncomfortable.

Going to the bathroom quite a few times per day now too and there is blood (but bright colored) but not diarrhea....very soft, loose (ish) and a bit on the pale side.
