Cortifoam?

Greetings:

I was wondering if anyone with CD with rectal involvement has any experience with this drug. I use Canasa/Rowasa suppositories, but I was wondering if the foam might be a better option. I have an appointment with my doctor in a few weeks, and I am going to ask him as well, but I thought I would try to get some info from some people who have actually used this product (or heard about anyone who has used it). Also, does anyone know about potential side effects?

Cortifoam is the only rectal med that works for me when I have issues with proctitis.

It doesn't go through your bloodstream the way oral steroids do (prednisone) therefore the chances of any side effects is minimal to zero. I've been on it as long as a full year BEFORE tapering off of it and even then never had a single side effect from it myself. Being a foam, my experience has been that it can reach up quite a bit and of course with any rectal meds, the longer you wait to get on them when needed, the longer it can take to be effective...it was my bad for waiting too long that one time to get myself on rectal meds which is why it took so long to work.
