Howdy everyone!
A little history before I get to my question:
In early November of this year, I went through the worst sickness I've ever experienced; vomiting, diarrhea that was just bile, unable to drink or eat anything, fever/chills, etc. for 3 days before I finally went to a GI doc after doubling over in pain from trying to eat chicken broth and noticing my stool had become all blood.
He was really concerned about
my extreme dehydration and symptoms and put me in the hospital right away. At the hospital they checked my lovely ketchup-looking stool daily, got me hydrated and eating liquids, and finally released me after 3 days of countless blood tests.
Doctor calls me the next day and says the blood test is positive for Crohns. So I have and endoscopy and colonoscopy. Both showed VERY little inflammation, most of which he believes came from the colon prep. So now I've got to schedule my small intestine x-ray, but here's my question:
Has anyone had a false positive? Aside from my immune system being noticeably weaker (got strep throat AND bronchitis since the beginning of Nov.), and my past history if diarrhea and nausea, I've felt pretty good since all this :/
Sorry for the long story, I'm just confused. My 15-year-old cat Odin has had IBD for over a year now so I'm no stranger to the drugs, symptoms, and treatment in cats, but when it comes to humans I'm in the dark! Lol Guess that's what I get for devoting my life to animals :)
Thanks in advance, guys!!
