Hello, all, and well wishes.
Just got my LDN in from the compounding pharmacy, 4.5mg, non-slow release. I'll take the first one tonight. Those on it, do y'all have any tips, specifically do you think it's important to try to take it at the same time every night, or just within a range (9pm-3am is what I've heard), or do you take it when you go to sleep (as in, does it start to "kick in" or anything, or would it be fine to take it at midnight and stay up til 2am, for example?).
I'm hoping to use this (LDN), along with some other supplements (omega 3, DHEA, probiotics, a good multivitamin, D3, B-complex, curcumin, N-acetyl glucosamine, aged garlic, green/ginger/other herbal tea, occasional slippery elm, occasional vaporized cannabis) to help me taper off of prednisone, which I have been on for a year and a half now. The other supplements I had been on/have recently been introducing already and just did one week at 17.5mg of prednisone, which is promising because I have been unable to get below 20mg for what seems like forever. Trying 15mg now and will continue in 2.5 increments every two weeks from here. Fingers crossed.
My long term goal is to keep trying to taper off all of my prescription drugs, so if I'm successful with prednisone I'll go through and try the same with budesonide, mesalamine, and famotidine. On a minor note (especially since mesalamine doesn't seem to actually have that much effect of people with Crohn's), when I finish with this bottle of Pentasa I am switching to Lialda, just for convenience. Anyone else take it? I know it acts slightly differently, releasing later and not being as widespread, but I'm guessing/hoping it won't be that much of a difference.
