Do I have to fast for any of these tests?

I went to my GP this morning.  I could n't wait at the lab as there was a long line and I plan on giong after work (could not miss any more morning time today).  None of the tests are fasting that I know of.  I looked up the hemo A1c and the TSH and they both said no fasting.  I remember my doc specifically asking me if I ate yet this morning...so now I am wondering.

B12, D, TSH, LDL, Hemo A1c, comp metabolic and CBC.

Thanks...I could have sworn I had LDL without fasting before...but I will check on it.  I had to have something for breakfast so if they wont let me do that one, I am oK with that.  I have always had high good cholesterol and mid to low bad cholesterol so not really worrying.  Doc is being thorough with my swelling leg concerns.  Getting an US of my legs as soon as they can schedule it (crud more time off work).  He also keeps an eye on my vitamins since exhaustion is an issue.  He even makes sure my GI is regularly following me.  Unfortunately (or fortunately), he is also making sure I get a mammogram since I havent in several years.  I didnt get the tests for hormones---he wants to see if it is the budesonide causing the lag and the sweats.  He was really shocked at the limited side effects I have had from the stuff!

On the plus side...I lost a little weight!!!  For me that is a positive as my body holds on to every ounce and I am fat.

 

If the complete metabolic profile includes ferritin, then you need to fast for that too or your numbers won't be accurate. I hope you sort everything out and feel better soon!
