I was wondering if anyone else has skin issues that are caused by their crohns? about 1 year ago I got this really bad rash on my inner thighs that seeped moisture. Doctors couldn't figure out what was causing it and I ended up on prednisone, the only thing that helped, for a year. Then about 5 months ago I started getting these pimple like bumps all over my legs, again doctors don't know what is causing it. In the past month they have started to itch and move to the rest of my body. Then about 2 month ago I started to get really sensitive skin on my face, which is now red and blotchy. I also started to get these lesions on my scalp which seep moisture and keep giving my headaches.

I was wondering if anyone else has skin issues. I am getting quite frustrated because its just one thing after another and doctors can't figure out what is causing any of it.

Do you think it could be psoriasis? I know there are several types, including a type that causes pustules to form on the skin. It is not uncommon for Crohnies to get psoriasis or some other auto-immune illness.

Hey dreamer...I have always had weird skin thigns come along---odd I jsut mentioned it in another of my posts). None of mine have been an oozing type like you describe. I think you should see a good dermatologist and talk about the possible CD related things (pyoderma of various types, psoriasis).

I have had some wild rashes and swellings and bumps. I had pityasis several times, fifth disease a few times and I ahve rosacea. Mostly OTC cortisone creams or antihistamines (Claritin plus pepcid) were used to resolve. Except the whole body inflammtion and burning skin about 5-7 years ago that took two rounds of prednisone to resolve.
Try to find yourself a higher end dermatologists that has experience with multiple auto immune issues. Good luck

Rosacea here.

Also, I get hard red bumps on my face periodically, that break and leak a little, until they finally heal. They usually accompany stress, and are embarassing.

I have rosacea which is made worse when I am not on the right combo of meds. More annoyingly, I also have pyoderma gangrenosum on the skin around my stoma. It is awful, weepy, terrbile to deal with, and the most painful thing I have ever experienced. My CRS told me that's it's an extremely rare external Crohn's manifestation and many physicians are NOT familiar with it. Regardless, I hope you don't have it, it's terrible.
