Will Medicaid pay for my script?

My GI's office thinks that because Medicaid doesn't cover my doctor himself, they won't cover any prescription he writes, either. I believe this is wrong, at least because my other scripts have been paid for, written by uncovered doctors. So he won't prescribe me Humira. I have seen him many times in the hospital, too, and he wants me to take it but won't prescribe it himself. And neither will my family physician, which I suppose I understand. It has been a runaround to get a new GI. I am not in good enough health to handle all the nonsense and frankly, BS, of this system. I have no help, and I have spent 3 months total in the hospital since October. I'm now on prednisone and need to get off it ASAP.

The doctor knows his services aren't covered because he chooses not to become Medicaid approved. Many doctors won't deal with Medicaid because they feel the paperwork is too much and the pay is too low. I'm not sure about prescriptions, but I do have a feeling your doc's office is right.

There should be a local Medicaid office you can call, perhaps the same one where you signed up for Medicaid.
