I have had chronic stomach issues for as long as I can remember. The last few years have gotten out of control. I go from constipation to sudden diarrhea. And I mean I get a cramp, flush, and have less than a minute before I lose control. Cramping, sweating and pure liquid.

I had a colonoscopy ten years ago with nothing showing. Loosely Diagnosed with IBS. I had a scope this week, and am concerned with the results. I must mention, I go to the doc for a conference next week.

However, two of the biopsies were for the following findings:

terminal ileum nodules & Erythematous Mucosa

What I am reading online is freaking me out. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I have to note, I do not have celiac disease. I have removed gluten and feel better but the symptoms persist. I have not found any triggers, there seems to be no rhyme or reason.

Everything I read, (self diagnosis I know) points to Chrons/Colitis.

Welcome boredfrog. While I understand it is upsetting to be diagnosed with a chronic illness, you've been struggling with bowel issues for a long time. Many of us get relief from knowing there is something to treat and look forward to pursuing treatment in order to feel better.

I won't comment on the specific notes from your scope, but I hope that your meeting with the GI provides you with adequate information and assurance that treatment is likely to help. I would suggest bringing someone with you who can provide a 2nd set of ears since there is likely to be a lot to discuss and remember.

I am very anxious for an answer. Something (but nothing to serious) to explain my issues. A finding means a treatment! My husband thinks that this is all in my head and that I am old enough to have control of my bowels. The anxiety over these issues is terrible.

Yes, I can see that you are anxious. Your husband should walk a mile in your mocassins before dismissing your issues as being "in your head." Which, by the way, is not trivial - the bowel has more nerve cells than your brain. Your anxiety over this isn't helping you, but it is understandable that bowel incontinence is extremely upsetting.

^ Agree with kazbern. Your husband clearly hasn't ever had to deal with similar issues....

Hi Boredfrog, I just wanted to send you some well wishes because I know what you are going through.  I am 34 yrs old. My fiance has said he thinks my bowel incontinence is in my head. Sometimes, he doesn't think before he speaks!   What he does not understand is how humiliating it is to be out (work/store/car/wherever) and not be able to get to the restroom in time.  No one wants to be this way! I have Crohn's and C-DIFF.  The C-DIFF is what is causing my urgency problems that will hopefully be cured next week when I undergo a fecal transplant.

If our men, just once, had to take an emergency side road stop, I don't think they would be so quick to judge. It really is overwhelming.

I just want an answer. Something to understand all this. Learn how to forsee a flare up, prevent it. ANYTHING.
