Good day!
I am a man, 71 years old.
During a period 1990 -1993 operated ¨ I 4 times to what time proved for Crohn diseace.
Small indesti is short, and it has coused a more or less constant pain in my back
As painkillers I take Paracetamol, Oxinorm and Oxycontine.
The pain level is 7-8 (pain scale 1-10) just before I take painkillers.
I am very sure that spinal pain is becuse of low weight.
Before my first surgery, my weight 84kg weight since I did my military service.
After surgery in 1993 weight was down to 72kg.
The last part of the colon app. 5 cm underwent surgery in 1999.
After this, I have had bleeding problems fistulas.
In 2009, a new operation, the small small intestine was leaking and a piece got cut.
Not sure but think it is 50 cm left of the small intestine.
My weight is now 59.2 and I'm 187 cm tall.
I have now been at Malmö University Hospital in 2 weeks. Today calculated födoiintag is 5500 kcal / day.
Change in weight is zero during this period.
My own conclusion is that for digestion vitiga mineral and / or vitamin just passing through.
I will suggest to the physician that a sample of the food is taken before a meal and a sample
taken 1.5 hours after meals to analyze and perhaps it is possible to see any of this.
Does anyone know if this analysis has been done before?
I hope to hear from someone on this problem.

Very sorry, I have no idea about the stool analysis. Are you on TPN? (Intravenous feed.) If not, then it certainly sounds like you ought to be.

I'm hoping that a guy called randynoguts will post in this thread, 'cos he has lost nearly the whole of his small bowel as well. Most of us have had surgery on this board, but not to the extent you two have. Can't imagine going through all that, to be honest. You have my respect.

Probably should have made it clearer what I was referring to. It was this line: During a period 1990 -1993 operated ¨ I 4 times to what time proved for Crohn diseace.

I wasn't sure if that said 14 or 4 operations. Even 4 operations in 3 years would be a lot, but 14 would be a crazy number.

Randynoguts doesn't come by here a lot anymore (he used to), but if he doesn't see this post, maybe somebody can email him... :-/

Yes, it was 4 operation of witch 2 was very bad.
During the 12 hour operation I woke up with the whole stomac cut up.
Pain was 10+ on the pain scsle.
On the other an unexperin surgdoctor did not tighed the small indemergencyesty so I ended up at
the emergency and 2 day's later the whole surgical cut opened and a lot of dirty liquid forced out.
After that I had a drain for app. 200 day's, no food, only intravenous nutrition.
At the moment I got normal food and also intrvenous nutrition
