I have run the gamut with neuropathy.
First a bit of history..
It has been a solid year of it...solely in my legs. primarily in my right. about 6 years ago i had extreme right hip pain...it got blamed on l-3 l-4.
Knee surgery 3 years ago....lost all the muscle in my left leg...my right was huge.
1 year later...solid pins and needles upper left thigh for a couple days. couple months later...i lost the feeling in my lower right ankle...and 2 solid months of neuropathy in both legs...again not in feet.
So we jump to present time. Neuropathy in both legs for almost a solid year.
I have literally been to.............................. 2 general practice doctors, 2 chiropractors, a orthopedic, a neurologist, a rheumatologist,a sports doctor, a physical therapist, a health food specialist, neurosurgeon, a neuropathy infrared center, and a neuro science center.
I now have 4 referrals to pain management.
I have had 4 xrays or my back, a emg, mri of brain, upper spine, lower spine...and fixing to have a mri of middle back.
I have had blood drawn 5 times i do believe.
(thank goodness for obama care!)
Neuropathy in both legs, mainly the right( solid pins and needles, burning at night time, the feeling of not wanting to wear pants, zapping, muscle cramps, muscles jumping, what feels like shin splints, the feeling of my feet being sprained when i get out of bed in the am)
....... have had large bruising in upper right thigh... hip and some lower back pain.
And i put this in the bursitis neuropathy chat solely because now...after all the testing i've had my ortho believes i have bursitis in my left hip. which i just found out you cant see on an x ray? (who at the moment doesn't take my blue E)
maybe this was the issue to begin with! maybe all these test where pointless. would injections in my hips cure it all...and why no mri or xrays of my hips yet? makes sense to me.
They where all dead set i had ms.....o wait ...I had a diagnosis of Fibro. LOL...google fibro and neuropathy...not much on it.
-gabapentin-1600mg
-cymbalta- 60 mg
-percocet- 30mg
-a pain lotion (that i would have to use as a body butter from my waist down)
-neuropathy vitamin
-magnesium
-an anti inflammatory diet-didn't work
-amitriptyline- didn't work
-naproxen- no help either
-baclofen- stroke like reaction.
-lyrica- had bad side effects
Every doctor I walk into...says they do not know whats wrong...and cant help me.
Idiopathic neuropathy?? Or maybe just some messed up hips...whatever it is its been like pulling teeth to get a diagnosis...which hasn't happened yet.
