Infusion, or Day 1:
I just began entyvio on Friday August 1st, 2014. I thought I would document my experience here for any interested. I have inflammatory crohn's of the large intestine.
I am hopeful this drug will help me. The tnf-alpha blockers have failed.
<<<<----I will post a summary below for easy access!---->>>>
First two months (weeks 1-9): not a lot of improvement, maybe a little. Hoping for the magic of week 10 people talk about
.
Fourth month (week 13): and things have started to get better. I have another infusion next Friday and hopefully things will stay on an upward trend.
Four full months on Entyvio: It has now been about
four full months since I started Entyvio, and the improvement is very slow, but it is definitely there. I would say my bowel movements are about
half what they were before the Entyvio. The best thing is I am now able to make it through most nights without having diarrhea in the middle of the night!
Five months on Entyvio: things are still improving slowly. I make it through the night without a "bathroom break" pretty much every night. Funny how easy it is to take that for granted. Diarrhea has improved in frequency in severity, now there is even an occasional semi-formed bowel movement. Not in remission, but I am enjoying sleeping through the night very much.
Six months on Entyvio: still slow improvement. Not in remission but I have semi-formed stools most of the time now. Hoping there is remission in the near future!
Nine months on Entyvio: not in remission but now 80-90% better. No side effects. From experience I can advise people with Crohn's to BE PATIENT with this drug if you can. I am so glad I stuck with it.
<<<----My Entyvio treatment is over- it has lost efficacy---->>>
14 months on Entyvio: the drug did work for awhile, but is no longer effective. A shame! I hope you other Entyvio users have a longer positive response than I did.
