Looking for some feedback. I had a flare for the first time in April post 7 years since surgery. I was put of Humira in May following an ultrasound with contrast (Definity)in May. No problems. I am not as sick but still far from normal. I don't want to be on Humira. Thus was my first week of the SCD diet. I want to control my symptoms and get off meds. I went in for my follow-up ultrasound today. The normal ultrasound was good in fact they said they thought I had someone else's. They wanted to do contrast to look more closely at one spot. I didn't care. However, 1.5 minutes after they pushed it I had a serious allergic reaction. I felt like I was going to die. I saw stars, diaphoretic, chest pain, tightness, nausea, shortness if breath. They were beyond shocked. They is supposed to be the safest contrast out there. It took me 4 hours to get released with Benadryl, gravol in me and instruction to take more tonight. I have never had this serious of a reaction. They advised me they had never had this happen. I am curious if anyone else has had something similar? Any thoughts would be nice!
