celebrex??

I would never have even considered this before, but I thnk an awful lot of the gastro that suggested it, so it bears looking into.

With that preface -- have any of you ever tried celebrex for joint pain, and what did you think? I've avoided NSAIDS like plague for the last 15 years, but doc suggested it and I've been doing some reading. Aside from that, I have got to do something about my joints. I'm on Tysabri for my guts, and it's getting things in line nicely, but I'm not getting the double dip on the joints that I used to from Remicade and Cimzia (I didn't care for Humira...). I'm going to be all crippled up, even with my guts behaving, before too long at the rate I"m going.

The thing I'm reading mostly is that the people who celebrex works for -- it's for short periods. I don't know if that's going to make it for my case. I've had joint problems since I was 13, long before I ever had any gut symptoms.

I too had joint problems long before gut trouble. since childhood. Ive run through the gamut of biologics and nsaids. My Rheumatologist gives me Celebrex so that I won't take ibuprofen. She thinks Celebrex is the least likely to cause trouble with the gut. It helps me a little, but my arthritis is really severe. And i honestly think ibuprofen works better, for me any way. I can't take sulfasalazine because I get horrible side effects from it. It kills my appetite and makes me feel terrible. I would try the Celebrex. You should be able to tell fairly quickly if it's helpful or not.
