Can't get a handle on it

Just can't seem to get a handle on this bleeding issue. i know I sound like a broken record. It has been since 2007. But now it is just worse. My CT enterography showed no active CD, but yet my hemoglobin is 85 AFTER a blood transfusion a month ago?! Started entocort because we really just don't know what else to do? I have great doctors. They are going to test me for celiac again. But I have tried going GF and it did not result in higher hemo.

Hemotologist says nothing indicates problem with bone marrow. He says I have anemia due to iron deficiency from chronic illness. You would think i would see the blood since I am apparently losing so much. I feel pretty good except for the exhaustion, irritability, and frustration.

Any comments are appreciated :)

Is your duodenal ulcer still bleeding?

When you went GF, how long did you do it?

Have you swallowed a pillcam?

I think the clue might lie in the fact you've had 5 bowel resections. How much small bowel do you have left? Do you have any malabsorption issues?

I'm sorry to hear the ulcer isn't healing after that many years and that you're having to have regular transfusions and iron. No wonder you're exhausted. When I had a deep ulcer and severe gastritis, I think more than anything it was all the antibiotics I took that ultimately healed it. I was tested for H. pylori and was negative for it.
