I submitted my colon and rectal screening test a week ago and today got a call saying they found blood in my stool. I didn't see any blood? I've had CD for 35 plus years and never had a problem with blood in my stool, although I did have bright red blood from hemmoroids and a fissure in the past. Even tthough I have my GI they want to send me to their doctors in Dec and a colonoscopy in Feb. These doctors are associated with the coloncheck program so they asked the name of my Family doctor, and would not accept the name of my GI. I phoned my GI's office and spoke with his nurse, and she said he is back logged with colonoscopy appointments and that it may take time to get the test done through him, plus in order for him to do the testing, my family DR has to ask for a referral and also get permission from the ColonCheck, so I phoned the Coloncheck back and told them to keep my appointment dates
open? However my doctor is more familiar with the long stricture I have. I'm expecting that everything will eventually pan out as to who is going to do the procedure?. Right now I'm stressing about
it. Why do they make a person wait that long to add to the stress? Like take it now, and get it over with? Hopefully the fecal blood they found is not from an intestinal bleed, but from irritation or hemmorroid or something?
