6mp and alcohol?

I just started 6 mp (50 mg). Am I allowed alcohol? I heard 6mp is tough on the liver. I'm a super lightweight w/ alcohol, usually 1 beer a month.

The first time I had a drink when I was taking Imuran [a cousin of 6MP], I got looped quickly which never occurred before. After that I made sure to nurse my drink to avoid the looped feeling. Everyone reacts differently. I don't think one beer a month with the 6MP will be putting your liver at risk - however I am not a doctor.

I recently started seeing a doctor at a big time hospital which has a new wing devoted to IBD. He said along w/ the Humira I'm on, 6mp will be "great combo"... him and the Fellow doctor never mentioned anything about possible liver risks and no alcohol.

Very bummed they didnt share this w/ me. I'll still take the meds because I dont live for alcohol and because I dont want to get a flare
