Awaiting j-pouch surgery- need input

So I'm awaiting getting into a specialist to see if I'm a candidate for the j-pouch procedure (I should be), and I'm hoping someone can tell me about their experience. I am very sick right now and have NO quality of life. I just got out of the hospital and I'm home with a PICC line for nutrition. I'm constantly in pain and just absolutely miserable. I hope I can get in to this surgeon soon because I don't know how much more of this I can take. I just want someone to be totally honest and tell me about their experience and how long it took to recover, conplications, etc.
