I hesitate to ask if this could be Crohns even though my doctor brought it to my attention that it might be, because I don't seem to be presenting a classic case.
I am 24 year old female. This past November I was eating bad and one day woke up with horrible abdominal pains. I went to my doctor for an unrelated reason, mentioned this and when it failed to get better by the next morning, she sent me for a CT scan which found inflamed intestines (I don't know which part specifically). She gave me a steroid and it went away.
She wanted me to see GI and get a colonoscopy, but when I met the guy he freaked me out by being weird. I felt like he was a waste of time so I didn't go through with it and sort of just forgot about it all. I mean, the pain went away, so why should I care?
Then two days ago I was up all night with stomach pains. The following day my throat started hurting and I figured I was getting strep throat or some kind of cold. But last night and today have still been filled with severe abdominal pain and it's killing me! But my throat hasn't gotten worse like I thought it would, so probably not strep throat.
Then I remembered that my Doctor had wondered out loud if I was getting the beginnings of Crohn's disease and now I'm freaking out.
Thing is, I'm constipated with zero diahrea. I'm still eating and though I lost a pound these past couple of days, I'm figuring that was water weight.
If I'm still in pain like is tomorrow I'm going back to my doctor to discuss these symptoms, but I thought I'd also post here for your thouhts. I've been reading old posts and Im thinking now it doesn't sound like Crohns at all.
Such a long post! Sorry!
Any thought?
