Let's have a talk about grapefruit seed extract.

I started it 3 years ago for one reason only.. To clear up my cystic acne. I found that not only has my skin become something that is complimented, my Crohn's disease has been in remission for 3 years, I am a MRSA staph carrier..gone. It kills everything from parasites the size of a anaconda to MRSA staph, salmonella, etc. my daughter contracted PIN worms a parasite that survives in the anal cavity...gone

This is truly a miracle drug on many levels. Only problem?

It is a number 1 problem for interactions with other meds.

Wow! What is gapeseed? Oh, GRAPEseed. Wait, I thought it was GRAPEFRUIT that was the "number 1 problem for interactions with other meds. I am so confused......

:) I had the same confusion, so I tried to go looking.

That having been said, I highly doubt this works great for everyone. Anyone else notice that in the last couple of weeks we have had a TON of posts about how some supplement or another is going to cure all of us?

I am interested in the grapeseed extract. Several people on the UC forum have had good luck with it. I would be willing to try it if I can't get into remission soon.

I love grapefruit but I cannot handle any acidics. They and fiber cause more D for me then my normal 12-20 a day. I had to give up most of my favorite stuff due to acidics. Even tomato's can cause that action.

Grapefruit has a chemical that can dangerously interfere with many medications. I'm assuming this is about grapefruit seed extract and not grape seed extract. Lasardo, is that what you're talking about?

There's some on grape seed extract over on the UC board. A few have had used it over there. Maybe search the threads.

I recently added it to my WOO/Thyme thing as well. Can't say much though as I am in a remission like state already. But has not had a negative effect. Worth a try perhaps.

EDIT: OH WAIT... "Grape Fruit" extract... never mind then. I have not taken this. Only Grape Seed.

In my opinion, I really hate when people do that. I don't know why they do that. Until an official cure is announced the world, I really don't think people should be posting the word "cure".

When a pharmaceutical company sells a tested-drug, it's all because they just want your money!!11!1

But when a "nutraceutical" company sells an "all-natural" product and makes a bunch of untested claims about it, you just know it HAS to work.

I only wanted to open a discussion about "GRAPEFRUIT SEED EXTRACT". For which I have found it has changed my completion and wondered if it was what was behind my Crohns desease mysteriously going into remission.

Thanks for clarifying that it was in fact grapefruit seed extract and not grape seed extract. I thought that's what you meant since you mentioned the medication interaction, but wasn't sure. My big worry about supplements is what's in them that's not supposed to be in them, and why in some cases they seem to work quite well - because they actually have undeclared drugs in them. Today there was a piece on CBS about a synthetic amphetamine-like drug in some "natural" supplements, weight loss stuff, I think. Heart attack waiting to happen for some unsuspecting user, I'm afraid.
