Rectal/vaginal fistula

I've just read your experience and I'm going through something quite similar. I was diagnosed with RV fistula secondary to diverticulitis July 2015. My surgeon has told me that she will remove the sigmoid colon and I may need a temp stoma bag with remote possibility of it being permanent. I'm still waiting on a date for the surgery. Did yours go ahead? How did you get on? How was recovery. Like yourself I'm so nervous about it and hate the thought of having a bag. I'm 39 years . I'd really love to hear from someone who has went through this.
