Within only months of seeing GI, for abdominal cramping, I suddenly went from healthy to "stricturing crohns disease" and surgery. I'm one week post op. My daughter tragically died and months later, this came out of nowhere. I was emotionally broken from her death, and I think that may have allowed this beast to get a foothold in my body. Last week they removed part of my small intestine and ileocelaal and connected small intestine to large. I'm in pain and exhausted. A few months prior, two balloon procedures were tried to open two different strictures but both times the strictures closed up again within weeks. They say they removed 2 strictures with the surgery, and also found fissures. Also there is new involvement in the Rectum. All I can say is OMG, what has just happened. Next, its Remicade. To say I am scared is an understatement. I'm in my late 50's and this is the first time this thing reared its ugly head, and with a vengeance. Has anyone out there had a similar story?
