Hi!
I had the prometheus done in September 2012 to test for antibodies to remicade.
I had a very short lived abscess and a fever in August, which a round of disgusting cipro flagyl got rid of, plus so many hives on my arms and legs that my roommate thought I was going into anaphalaxis!
The nurse had to come to my house and take my blood, so $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Even though my GI ordered it, my insurance refused to cover the cost, which was around $5000.
My GI's office told me not to worry about it and fought it for me, which was nice! I hate fighting insurance companies. And so I never paid a dime for the test.
The test was negative and so I'm still on Remicade to this day.
I was later on prescribed 6mp, which was nasty for a long time, then worked, then made my hair fall out, which made me start taking folic acid, and then BOOM! Pregnant.
My OB was freaked out, but I was on 6mp for my entire first trimester and remicade the entire time.
The studies that say 6mp was class D for pregnancy are old, btws.
Baby is 6 months and super active and talkative!
I'm going in for my postpartum colonoscopy in 2 weeks. I'm dying to know what's going on under there.
I might have to go back on the 6mp afterwards. YUCK!
