So, I had what my docs thought was a galbladder attack at first. Some hallmarks of GB issues were present, but ultrasound showed no issues. The pain felt exactly like my regular Crohn's cramping, but in the wrong spot. I have Crohn's-Colitis and only my colon has been affected so far, but I know that can change.
My usual CD pain is low in my abdomen, below my belly button; and as I'm sure with yours, has a very specific quality. Nothing else that has ever caused me pain has felt quite like the Crohn's does. So I was confused when I had this same pain much higher in my abdomen. It was probably about 2-3 inches ABOVE my belly button.
The "attack" was accommopanied by severe intractable heartburn, which lasted a couple of days. This sounds like GERD to me, but I don't know if GERD has that above belly button intense wave-like cramping.
I am worried that the Crohn's may be manifesting in my small bowel or higher.
So I guess I have two questions:
To those of you with small bowel/upper GI disease, what does your CD pain feel like, and where is located? Do you ever get heartburn/reflux due to the CD?
To those of you with GERD: Do you get the same cramping?
