Hi everyone, I am new to this site. But, not new to Crohns. A little about me. I live in California and have had crohns for about 30 yrs. I stopped drinking in my 40s and 8 months later found out I had crohns. (I should never have stopped drinking lol just kidding). My intestine burst and needed a bag, three yrs after went in to take it down. One month in the hospital, had fistula and hernia. Fired from job while in hospital. After that have been in remission. I have been very lucky so far, and now my hernia is acting up and may need to have it repaired. My husband passed away 5 yrs ago, so on my own. Thats it for now, but will come on the site again, any questions please me a message. Thanks

So, er, were you in remission for 30 years? I've recently had my takedown surgery and am hoping for a similarly lengthy remission. Actually, no, even longer, because I don't want to be dealing with this BS when I'm in my 70s. #remission4lyfe :p

Yes, I was in remission once I had surgery for a burst colon and needed a bag. Three years later I had the bag taken down, and had a fistula and a hernia. I am having pain but I am not sure if it is the crohns or the hernia. Will keep you posted.
