Hemmies or Chrohns

I haven't been on here a while and have been in remission for a year.

I have mild Chohn's Colitis and when I flare up its usually some spots of blood that goes away after using Flagyl and increased Pentasa. I rarely get Diarhoea but do have IBS.

Right now I'm having normal stools about once or twice a day and notice small specs of pink in the toilet and on the tissue but not on the stool. This is freaking me out as any blood gives me huge anxiety and then the stress quite often triggers a flare.

How do people cope with seeing blood? How do we distinguish Hemmearoids from Inflammation? I have been diagnosed with Hemmies before and it feels sore down there after a bowel movement.

Shall I increase my meds just in case? Or take a Fecal Calprotectin test just to be sure? My doctor is it most likely is Hemmies as I'm well, no Diarrhoea etc.

I've told the GI that I'll take action only if I get looser stools and the blood is consistent with every BM. Right now it's solid stools twice a day with the odd rare spec of blood.

Normal to hard stools.
Bright red blood on the stool and tissue.

Time to get a Faecal Calprotectin done.
