Sick after traveling out of the country

HI guys, It's been awhile since I've posted. I was pretty much in remission on cimzia for years now. I keep thinking I should not forbid myself of the things I love to do, like travel, especially while I can, if I can. So, I travel to the Dominican Republic to a well known resort with filtered water and great reviews. I think I goofed the very last day by eating at the airport, doh! Anyway both me and my boyfriend are now violently ill with green watery stools up to 20x a day. Last time this happened I traveled to Jamaica and caught c diff. I thought it was probably because I was on antibiotics for awhile and no one else got it. Anyway headed to the doctor in the am. My family is probably going to forbid me from traveling out of the country, guess I can't blame them since this seems to be a recurring theme. Sorry for the rant! This stuff is just annoying!

Parasites! EEEK! Well it sure does sound like one in there! LOL! We shall see tomorrow. I called the on-call dr., who said to wait till the clinic opens in the morning so they can do a stool sample. I was actually diagnosed with crohn's and c-diff at the same time, when I came back from Jamaica about 6 years ago. The c-diff had flared up the crohn's and I was finally diagnosed properly with crohn's. I thought I was in really good shape physically this time. Guess it doesn't matter, because even my boyfriend got it, who is very healthy with no ailments. I don't think I will be traveling outside the states anytime soon!

So.... I started feeling better thinking maybe I actually got over whatever it is that i have. Right after my cimzia shot, the next day, it ALL came back with a vengence. I'm pretty sure it's giardia. I'll submit my stool sample tomorrow and find out for sure. But this time, it came back with a muscle twitching thing. I was totally OK, and then I had to run to the restroom at work, and was stuck there for an hour, while my entire digestive system emptied itself. A new symptom arose though, my leg was twitching the whole time, like crazy and I couldn't stop it. Weird! I called the DR. right after and they won't prescribe an antibiotic without fully knowing what I have. So here we go again, I guess. We shall see what the results say, but I'm pretty certain that's what it is. Foul smelling, floating, greasy, mucousy bowel movements. Like crohn's isn't bad enough, heh?

Yeah...I've been taking florastor and colon health. Awaiting the diagnosis. Wish they would give me a round of antibiotics but I know they have to wait till they get a positive test result. I just know this is not my normal self/digestively speaking. Anything natural or over the counter you can use against this thing?

Oh, that's frustrating!! Could you have just had food poisoning that irritated everything and caused a flare? Have you tried a short course of pred to see if it will help?
